Watch out for the dogs 4 October 2010

Well I kind of had a crazy week. Tuesday my companion got bit by a dog. We were just walking down the road and this big old gray dog without barking or anything just turned around and bit her. The good news is because it was old it didn't have any teeth and just left her with a few bruises and me with a whole lot of laughs.

Then Wednesday we had a lesson with one of the guys we had found last week. He lives in a dangerous area and has a lot of tattoos so I never thought he was a saint, but it turns out he has been in jail twice for killing people and is in a wheel chair because someone tried to kill him, he has had 15 bullets enter his body and they filled his car with over 60 bullets. He even showed us his pistol that he keeps in the back of his wheelchair, just in case. But in the end it turned out to be an amazing lesson, he asked us if we were him, if we would forgive the people that put him in a wheelchair. So we talked about the importance of forgiveness and repentance. Just goes to prove that the Lord loves all of his children, no matter what they have done.

Thursday we were knocking houses and this little kid kept following us, after awhile we said hi to him and he told us that we could come teach his mom who is catholic and told us where his house was and we talked to him for a little and he explained where he lived and then took off in the other direction. After we had been walking in the opposite direction like a minute, the kid showed up again behind us and said that he wanted us to come teach his mom, so we followed him. We taught his mom and it was a short lesson but really full of the spirit and the best part is, Sunday she showed up with him at general conference. It is amazing how the Lord leads us to find those who have been prepared.

Friday we had a lesson with the family that came to church with us last week, They couldn't come to general conf. because they were out of town but Victoria, the mom told us she had prayed and knows that Joseph Smith was a prophet.

Sat and Sunday were conference which was amazing. So all in all I had a pretty good week. I love being a missionary. Oh and no more complaints from you and dad, that you aren't missionaries, you guys are supposed to find people for us to teach. Every member a missionary. Just be careful with the dogs....
